# Role binds

> Sync Discord roles from Roblox ranks.

## What binds do

Role binds map Roblox ranks to Discord roles. When Lumira syncs a user, it can
apply the matching Discord roles based on the user's Roblox group rank.

## Create a bind

1. Open **Binds** in the workspace.
2. Select **Create Bind**.
3. Choose a Roblox rank.
4. Choose one or more Discord roles.
5. Save the bind.

## Best practices

* Keep binds simple and predictable.
* Avoid overlapping roles unless the behavior is intentional.
* Test with a verified account before rolling out to staff.
